Every autumn the Montreal Botanical Gardens exhibits “The Magic of Lanterns” in their Chinese Gardens. It’s become something of a bi-annual tradition to visit near Halloween. Visitors tour through stone paths, around a man-made lake, and next to exquisitely landscaped gardens. The cold night a cosy contrast to the hot tea and moon cakes.
Every year the theme varies, and this time it was the emperor procession. Reflections of the images are due those particular lanterns displayed in the middle of the lake.
